Yellow Sunshines December News
Look what we learned last month!
In the month of November, the Yellow Sunshines talked about season’s changing, learned a little about 50’s music, talked about what is Thanksgiving and Fall Harvest. The children made lots of creative art with fall colors. Working with fall colors helped the children recognize the colors in a fun messy way. For example, they paint records, leaves, turkeys, colorful head bands, collage of leaves from our homes.
The Yellow Sunshines collaged squares and ovals. The Sunshines traced lines on leaves and turkeys, and our letters of the week. In a group activity, we counted objects like small blocks one through seven. The children loved all the colors of the leaves in the fall, how fun it is to crunch them, and try to trace them. We had fun talking about who is in your family, what we are thankful for. For example, the children said they were thankful for their mom, dad, and toys. The children had fun making pudding in a bag, loved the cupcakes and cookies they helped mix to bake. The classrooms and homes were decorated with fall Harvest art. At the end of the month, we had our Fall family Feast.
What we will learn this month…
For the month of December, the Yellow Sunshines will be talking about winter fun and celebrations and families. The children will be creative painting with holiday colors, making snowmen, and ice painting. Holiday art will fill the classroom and their homes. For example, bells, menorahs, reindeers, stockings, and ornaments. The children be discovering all the fun things we can do for winter fun celebrations. The Sunshines will continue to work with our letters by collaging and tracing them to help the children remember them. Finally, we will end the month with our Holiday Party when Santa comes to Adventures In Learning to see the children and have a book exchange.
