Yellow Sunshines November News
Look what we learned last month!
In the month of October the Sunshines learned the colors Black, White, and Orange. The children made lots of creative art with these colors to help them recognize the colors in a fun way. For example, they painted bats, pumpkins, ghosts, and collages. Making collages helps children on their small motor skills and eye hand coordination. The children also collaged diamonds and rectangles for shapes. The Sunshines traced lines, pumpkins, and our letters of the week. We counted objects, like toys, 1-5 in a group activity. The Sunshines learned all the things that you can do with a pumpkin. For example, we can cut a pumpkin, cook it, be creative with the seeds for art, feeling and touching the guts and seeds, then craving the pumpkin. Cooking the pumpkin made the school smell so yummy. The children enjoyed tasting the cooked pumpkin and asked for seconds. The classrooms and homes were decorated with lots of Halloween art. We finished the month with Trick-Or-Treating and a Halloween Party!!
What we will learn this month…
In the month of November we will talk about the season changing, learn a little bit about 50’s music, talk about Thanksgiving and our Fall Harvest Feast. For example, we will be painting with fall colors and collage different color leaves. For our 50th day of school, we will listen to some of their family’s favorite 50’s music, paint a record, and dress like the 50’s. For Thanksgiving, we will be painting turkeys, making headbands, and a special Thanksgiving card for our families. We will look for things that we see and eat during the fall Harvest. For example, Turkey, pumpkins, pies. For cooking, we will be baking cookies, cupcakes, and pudding in a bag. Next, the Sunshines will continue to work with our letters by collaging and tracing them to help the children remember them. Also, there will be lots of painting with our fall colors. Finally, we will end the month with our Fall Family Feast here at Adventures In Learning!
