Red Robins May News

Orange Preschool

Look what we learned last month!

In the month of April, the Red Robins learned more about multicultural and we were able to taste, hear, smell, and see different things.  Brody, Alyssa, Dominic, Bryce, Astrid, Hussain, Joseph, Jason, Cooper, Seth, and Carter came to school to share their culture with the class.

We also learned about Life on the Farm.  We learned about the many types of animals that you can see there.  Some of the animals the children named were horses, cows, chicks, pigs, and many more.  We also learned some animals in Spanish.  For example: Duck- El Pato, Horse – El Caballo, and Pig – El Cerdo.  The children made really cool barns with animals, and they drew their own spots on the cows.  All the children played in water with farm animals at the water tables.

We made special baskets to collect our spring eggs.  The children looked for the eggs that had the letter we assigned to them.  They did a great job!  We also made bunnies, chicks, eggs, and many more spring art this month.

For the week of Nature and Our Environment, we read and talked about liter and how it makes our Earth dirty.  The children drew a picture of nature and we talked about all the colors that you can see around us.  On April 15th there was a pink moon.  We talked about why it was pink.

The Red Robins will learn about plants and growing things.  For art, they drew trees and flowers.  The children also made flowers with tissue paper and made a collage of growing things.

This month, the Red Robins took their Cap and Gown pictures.  They look really cute!!  We started to practice our graduation songs as well.

The children reviewed the letters A-H and they have been working on recognizing numbers.

What we will learn this month…

In the month of May, the Red Robins will learn about our Moms and how special they are.  They will be making a special Mother's Day Card and Gift to take home for their Moms.

Together as a class, we will make a special snack for Cinco de Mayo and dance the Mexican Hat Dance.

The Red Robins will be exploring the world of Insects and Creepy Crawlies that we can find all over the world. They will be creating butterflies, caterpillars, ladybugs, and many more.

At the end of the month, we will be going over all the colors and we will be mixing colors to see what new color we can make.  I Spy will be the fun and exciting game to play to find colors.  The children will be making a color collage and rainbows.

As a class, we will continue to practice our graduation songs, so they feel comfortable when they go on stage for their graduation.  Lastly, we will be reviewing the letters Ii – Rr.
