Our Programs
The first five years of childhood are the most important in learning and development. Therefore, we practice a developmentally appropriate curriculum geared toward the needs of young children. We aim to balance their development in all areas: social, emotional, physical and intellectual through a wide variety of activities and experiences that help develop skills, provide academic instruction and allow for discovery learning.
Our educational concept is to provide a structured environment in which traditional, developmental and progressive styles of teaching are carefully integrated. To provide each child frequent opportunities to experience success and self esteem, which are essential in the exploring and growing experience.
In order to provide the best possible care for your child, we feel it is important for us to work as a team. You and the teachers both bring valuable dimensions to your child’s development. With mutual respect and clear communication, your child’s growth at Adventures In Learning can be a happy and rewarding experience.
Communication is important to us!
In addition to quarterly newsletters and individual daily reports, we want you to feel that you can talk to a teacher or director any time you have a concern, comment, question or praise! We will also arrange for a parent/teacher conference if you need it. For those with impossible schedules, we can also arrange telephone contact if you let the teacher know in advance.
If your child is at least two years old please read on…
At Adventures in Learning you child will be painting, digging, cooking, exploring and eating on their own. Clothes will suffer, but it is very important for your child’s development that they learn to do these things on their own. Trying to keep them clean might result in a nicer wardrobe, but also in a loss of learning opportunities, something that cannot be replaced!
A nutritious snack is served in the morning and late afternoon. We provide milk, 100% juice and water at snack, lunch and throughout the day. We offer an optional hot lunch daily for an additional fee and will include the following: protein, fruit/vegetable, bread/grain and milk. For a sample menu click here. You may also pack your child a lunch from home. We supply milk at lunchtime so there is no need to pack a beverage. No candy or soda please!
