Transitional kindergarten isn’t just another grade, it’s the grade that leads to kindergarten. Many experts consider it to be the most important grade in a child’s life. With Adventures in Learning’s Red Robin TK program, your young one will be getting the developmental guidance and encouragement they need now, while also getting the academic preparation they need for the future. Find out all the details you need on transitional kindergarten at Adventures in Learning, and schedule a tour of our facility in Tustin or Orange today! We’d love to meet with you.

PRE-K INFORMATION
At Adventures in Learning, we treat preschool as the important grade that it is. Our teachers are highly trained and experienced in providing the educational experience your child needs at this age. Preschool is essential for setting your child up for success, in kindergarten and all the years to follow. Adventures in Learning has crafted an environment and a curriculum that’s designed to help your preschooler thrive.
Center-Based Instruction
Each week, our Red Robins look at a new “Focus Skill” and theme. We set up learning centers that are based around this theme to help children construct their own learning and knowledge. They’ll love getting to try things on their own while still having guidance and encouragement from their teachers. Centers are excellent for encouraging independent work and collaboration — all cognitive processes that are essential for growth!
Language and Literacy
Spelling and printing their whole name, identifying all upper and lowercase letters, memorizing songs, and producing rhyming words are all just a few of the literacy skills we work on in the Red Robin classroom. Knowing the direction of print and tracking words (even if they can’t read them yet) is also something we instill with preschoolers to help them prepare for kindergarten. The list is practically endless of all that we cover! If you want a more complete guide on some of the activities and goals your child will work on in our preschool program, visit this page
Mathematical Skills
The jump from our 3-year-old classroom math skills and our preschool classroom is substantial, but we tailor lessons to meet your child at their level. We’ll work on identifying geometric shapes, counting 1-30 (as well as the order and name of these numbers), recognizing and continuing patterns, and so much more.
Compassionate Education
Our goal is readying every child for kindergarten, but we recognize that this is a process, and it’s not a linear one. Kids might count 1-10 perfectly on Friday, only to have forgotten on Monday. Learning is not a straight and narrow line — it has plenty of ups and downs, and this is normal. We teach children to persevere, but we will be the first to say “you’ll get it next time!” when something doesn’t stick right away.
